Who we are
vob is a desktop notes app made by Babe Elliott Baker, a sole proprietor based in California. You can reach us at hello@vobmd.com. This policy covers vobmd.com and the vob desktop app.
What we collect
On your device (never sent to us)
- Your notes, files, and everything you write inside vob
- Your app settings and preferences
- Anything you type into the assistant chat
On our server
- A random device ID generated by vob on first launch, so we can credit your one-time trial
- Your email address — only if you buy credits, captured by Stripe Checkout at the moment of purchase
- A Stripe customer ID once you've paid
- Your credit balance and a transaction ledger (top-ups and per-call charges)
- The model name and token counts for each assistant call — used to compute charges. We do not store the prompt or response content.
We do not log the content of your notes or your messages to the assistant. They pass through Cloudflare AI Gateway to Anthropic for processing, but our Worker doesn't retain them.
Anthropic does not use your inputs or outputs to train its models. vob accesses Claude through Anthropic's commercial API, which operates under their Commercial Terms of Service. Those terms prohibit training on customer prompts or model responses by default.

- Cloudflare — hosting, AI Gateway, R2 storage. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Anthropic — provides the Claude model powering the in-app assistant. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Cookies and analytics
We don't use cookies, analytics scripts, or trackers on vobmd.com or inside the vob app.
Marketing email
We don't send marketing email. The only email we'd ever send is a transactional one — for example, a receipt forwarded by Stripe, or a reply when you write to us.
How long we keep your data
- Device IDs, emails, and credit balances: while your account is active.
- Transaction ledger entries: indefinitely, for tax and audit purposes.
- If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete the device ID, email, and balance within 30 days. Ledger entries linked to past charges may be retained in anonymized form for accounting.
Your rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any sale of personal information. We don't sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@vobmd.com.
Children
vob is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
International users
vob is operated from the United States. By using vob you understand that your information will be processed in the United States and by the third parties listed above.
Changes
We'll post any updates to this page and bump the "last updated" date above. If the changes are material we'll also flag them inside the app.
